November is underway in Taylor, and this week’s calendar is a good reminder of how much is happening across our hometown.
We are honoring veterans, celebrating local businesses, supporting Taylor families, talking about workforce and economic growth, and beginning to shift into the holiday season.
For me, these updates are personal.
I was born in Taylor. I grew up here, and I have watched this community evolve for decades. Taylor today looks very different in many ways from the Taylor I knew growing up, but the things that matter most are still here — relationships, community involvement, local businesses and people willing to show up for one another.
That is why our message remains:
Raised Here. Christi Knows Taylor.
This week’s roundup is based on the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce Weekly Newsletter dated November 6, 2026.
As always, a sincere thank-you to the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce, its staff, Board, investors, members and community partners for gathering and sharing the information that helps all of us stay better connected to Taylor.
Chamber President & CEO Tia Rae Stone noted that November brings another full season of opportunities to connect, support local businesses and participate in the life of the community.
Here’s what’s happening.
Honoring Those Who Served
Veterans Day is especially meaningful in a community like Taylor, and this week offers several opportunities to recognize those who have served.
American Legion Military Ball — November 6
Graham D. Luhn American Legion Post 39 hosts its Military Ball Friday, November 6 from 6:00–10:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus in Taylor.
All military branches, past and present, are invited, and attendees do not have to be members of the Taylor American Legion.
The evening includes live music and an opportunity for veterans, families and community members to come together.
Salute to the Troops — November 8
The Dan Moody Museum will host Salute to the Troops on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM.
The program features Sgt. Major (Ret.) Robert Dashman, a ceremonial band and TAPS performed by Everett Logan.
Veterans are encouraged to share shadow boxes and other military memorabilia, and refreshments will be served afterward.
Veterans Day Breakfast — November 11
Graham D. Luhn American Legion Post 39 will also hold its Veterans Day Breakfast on Wednesday, November 11 from 7:00–9:00 AM.
Because the Legion Hall is undergoing renovation, this year’s temporary location is:
Knights of Columbus Hall
2201 E. 4th Street
Taylor, TX
The breakfast honors all who served and is sponsored by the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce.
If your schedule allows, this is a wonderful opportunity simply to show up and say thank you.
Skyline Laundry Celebrates 10 Years — November 11
Another local milestone takes place November 11 as Skyline Laundry celebrates its 10-year anniversary.
The celebration runs from 3:00–6:00 PM and includes food, drinks, door prizes and other activities for customers and members of the community.
Ten years in business is worth celebrating.
Small businesses are part of the fabric of Taylor, and milestones like this remind us how important local support can be.
Skyline Laundry Thanksgiving Food Drive
Skyline Laundry is also giving back this Thanksgiving season.
The business is collecting non-perishable food through November 22, with bags being distributed on November 24 from 5:00–8:00 PM during Laundry Love.
It’s another simple example of Taylor businesses helping Taylor families.
If you’re able to contribute a few items, it could make a meaningful difference for someone else’s Thanksgiving.
Monthly Chamber Business Luncheon — November 16
The Greater Taylor Chamber’s November Business Luncheon will focus on:
Key Highlights from the 90th Texas Legislative Session
Featured speaker Jesse Ancira, Visionary Founder of Ancira Wilco, will discuss legislation and its impact on local communities and businesses.
The luncheon takes place Monday, November 16 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
For property owners, investors and business owners, understanding what happens at the state level increasingly matters. Legislation can influence infrastructure, taxation, development, economic growth, employers and housing.

Regional Collaboration: Manufacturing, Workforce & Education
The Chamber also recapped the annual METT Summit, where the Manor, Taylor and Elgin Chambers of Commerce came together for a regional conversation about manufacturing and education.
The discussion explored the connection between industry, workforce development and education.
This matters enormously to Taylor.
Major employers need trained workers.
Workers need educational pathways.
Families need housing.
Businesses need infrastructure.
Communities need roads, schools and services.
Those pieces are connected, and they ultimately affect quality of life and real estate throughout the region.
That is why I pay close attention to conversations like METT.
Big Watt Digital: Community Sustainability Partner
This week’s newsletter recognizes Big Watt Digital as a Chamber Community Sustainability Partner.
The company provides integrated power and data-center solutions, including infrastructure serving AI training, AI inference and cloud campuses. According to the Chamber profile, the company’s approach is designed to support job creation, economic growth, infrastructure development and innovation.
Taylor and eastern Williamson County are increasingly part of much larger conversations involving power, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence and data centers.
Those trends are worth watching closely.

Shop Local This Holiday Season
As we head toward Thanksgiving and Christmas, this is a good time to remember how much local businesses depend on community support.
When you spend money with a Taylor business, you help support local jobs, occupied storefronts and the businesses that give this community its character.
If you can, make part of your holiday shopping list a Taylor shopping list.
Raised Here. Christi Knows Taylor.
Taylor is changing rapidly.
We are talking about manufacturing.
Power.
Data centers.
Workforce.
Housing.
Infrastructure.
Education.
Small businesses.
Downtown Taylor.
All of those things eventually intersect with real estate.
I was born here, and I remember where Taylor has been.
Just as importantly, I pay close attention to where Taylor appears to be going.
That is what “Raised Here. Christi Knows Taylor.” means to me.
It isn’t simply a slogan.
It means understanding how all of these pieces fit together.
If you own property in Taylor, are considering buying here, thinking about selling land or a longtime family home, evaluating an investment or simply wondering what all this growth means for you, I’m always happy to talk.
Sometimes you don’t need a sales pitch.
You just need someone who knows the community well enough to answer:
“Christi, what are you seeing?”
Call me.
