There is something special about watching your hometown grow.
I was born in Taylor, and I have had the privilege of watching this community evolve for decades. Taylor today looks very different in many ways from the Taylor I grew up in — but the things that matter most have remained remarkably consistent: people know one another, businesses support the community, neighbors show up, and there is a real sense that Taylor belongs to the people who call it home.
That is why I enjoy sharing these weekly community updates.
Real estate is certainly part of what I do, but knowing Taylor means much more than knowing what homes are listed for sale. It means understanding the businesses, employers, infrastructure, schools, community organizations and decisions that are shaping the city around us.
This week's update is based on the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce Weekly Newsletter dated October 30, 2026.
A sincere thank-you to the entire Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce team for gathering and sharing this information each week. Chamber President & CEO Tia Rae Stone describes Taylor as a community marked by energy, growth and community spirit, with local businesses playing an important role in that progress.
There is plenty happening as we head into November.
Construction Collaboration Luncheon — November 3
Taylor's growth continues to create opportunities throughout the construction and development community.
The Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce Construction Luncheon takes place Tuesday, November 3 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Holiday Inn Express in Taylor.
The event is designed to bring together construction professionals, contractors, developers and business leaders to build relationships and explore opportunities in Taylor's growing business community.
For anyone involved in construction, development, land, commercial real estate or supporting industries, these conversations are increasingly important.

METT Community Conversation — November 4
One of the most important regional conversations taking place this month is the 2026 Manor-Elgin-Taylor Community Conversation, better known as METT.
The event is Wednesday, November 4 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Railroad Ranch, 412 Depot Street in Elgin.
The subject could hardly be more relevant to Taylor:
The Future of Manufacturing and Education in Manor, Elgin & Taylor
The program brings together business, education and community leaders from across our region to strengthen partnerships and support continued economic success.
Manufacturing Panel
This year's manufacturing panel includes:
-
Kaley Frye, Director of Elgin EDC and moderator
-
Molly Young-Merritt, Executive Director, Austin Regional Manufacturers Association
-
Rick Brey, Production Manager, Carr Lane Manufacturing
-
Michele Glaze, Head of Public Affairs, Samsung
Samsung's participation is particularly noteworthy for Taylor. The company's investment here has helped change the economic trajectory of eastern Williamson County, and understanding the broader manufacturing ecosystem around it is increasingly important.
Workforce Panel
The workforce discussion includes:
-
Heather Bloom, President, Elgin Chamber of Commerce
-
Dr. Laura Marmolejo, Dean of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Technology at Austin Community College
-
Brandon Powell, CTE Director, Manor ISD
-
Dr. Kelly Coke, Associate Provost, Texas State Technical College
-
Paul Fletcher, Executive Director, Workforce Solutions RCA
This is where economic development becomes real.
New manufacturing facilities require skilled people. Skilled people require education and training. Workers need homes, roads, services and quality communities.
All of those pieces are interconnected.

MLK Sidewalk Improvements Groundbreaking — November 4
Another event worth noting on November 4 is the MLK Sidewalk Improvements Project Groundbreaking.
The Chamber newsletter's community announcement lists the ceremony for:
Wednesday, November 4
4:00–6:00 PM
Robinson Park
Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet the contractor following the ceremony.
Infrastructure projects may not always get the attention of a new restaurant or major employer, but improvements to sidewalks, streets, parks and connectivity have a very real impact on neighborhood quality of life.
Those investments matter.
Business Leaders Roundtable — November 4
SWBC Payroll + HR is also hosting a Business Leaders Roundtable on November 4 at Maggiano's Little Italy in Austin.
The gathering is designed as a smaller peer conversation among business leaders rather than a traditional presentation.
Topics include:
-
workforce trends and employee expectations
-
building a brand on a budget
-
driving growth
-
overcoming barriers to scaling
-
sharing tools and strategies with other business leaders
For entrepreneurs and business owners, sometimes the most useful information comes from sitting across the table from people facing many of the same challenges.
American Legion Military Ball — November 6
Taylor has a longstanding connection to the military and veteran community.
Graham D. Luhn American Legion Post 39 will hold its Military Ball on Friday, November 6 from 6:00–10:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus in Taylor.
All military branches — past and present — are invited, and attendees do not have to be members of the Taylor American Legion.
The event features live music and provides another opportunity for the community to recognize those who have served.
Salute to the Troops — November 8
The Dan Moody Museum will host Salute to the Troops on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM.
The program features Sgt. Major (Ret.) Robert Dashman, a ceremonial band and TAPS performed by Everett Logan.
Veterans are also encouraged to share shadow boxes and other military memorabilia.
The event flyer notes that coffee, cookies and bottled water will be served after the ceremony.
It is another meaningful opportunity for Taylor to recognize and remember those who served our country.
Veterans Day Breakfast — November 11
Graham D. Luhn American Legion Post 39 will also hold its annual Veterans Day Breakfast on November 11.
Because the Legion Hall is undergoing renovation, this year's breakfast will take place at:
Knights of Columbus Hall
2201 E. 4th Street
Taylor, TX
Breakfast will be served from 7:00–9:00 AM.
The event honors all who served and is sponsored by the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce.
Legislation & Local Impact — November 16
Taylor's growth is increasingly influenced by decisions made well beyond our city limits.
The Chamber's November Monthly Business Luncheon will focus on:
Legislation & Local Impact
Featured speaker Jesse Ancira, Visionary Founder of Ancira Wilco, will share insights on legislation affecting local communities and businesses.
The luncheon takes place Monday, November 16 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
For property owners and business owners alike, state legislation can influence development, infrastructure, taxation, economic development and the broader business environment.
Those are topics worth understanding.

Power Breakfast: Build a Stronger Workforce — November 18
The Chamber's November Power Breakfast addresses another issue becoming increasingly important as this region grows: attracting and retaining good employees.
Featured speaker Jayne Frasure, HR Manager with SWBC Payroll + HR, brings more than 30 years of HR experience.
Topics include:
-
employee relations and workplace challenges
-
ADA compliance and leaves of absence
-
job descriptions and compensation
-
employee engagement, retention and development
The breakfast takes place Wednesday, November 18 from 7:30–9:00 AM at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 180 NW Carlos G. Parker Blvd. in Taylor.
Member tickets are listed at $35, while non-member tickets are $45. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

TSTC Car Show & Canned Food Drive — November 21
The Texas State Technical College Car Show & Canned Food Drive is scheduled for Saturday, November 21 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at:
Texas State Technical College
1600 Innovation Blvd.
Hutto, TX 78634
The event is free to attend and includes:
-
a car show
-
campus tours
-
local vendors
-
food trucks
-
a canned food drive benefiting the Advocacy and Resource Center food pantry
It's another great example of education, workforce development and community involvement intersecting in one event.
Taylor Chamber Annual Awards: Nominations Are Open
The Taylor Chamber Annual Awards Banquet is scheduled for February 16, 2027, and nominations are now underway.

And I remain proud that the Christi Davidson Real Estate Group has joined this community of Chamber members.
The Chamber describes me as a top-producing Broker Associate and trusted real estate advisor serving Greater Austin and Taylor for nearly three decades.
For me, though, the Taylor connection goes back much further.
I was born here.
This isn't simply a market that I study.
It's home.
Raised Here. Christi Knows Taylor.
Taylor today is experiencing a remarkable amount of change.
Manufacturing is expanding.
New employers are arriving.
Infrastructure is evolving.
The workforce is changing.
Businesses are opening.
Housing demand continues to shift.
Land that looked one way twenty years ago may have entirely different possibilities today.
Understanding those changes is increasingly important when making a real estate decision.
A property's value isn't determined only by its square footage or acreage.
It's influenced by what is happening around it.
What roads are planned?
Where are employers locating?
Where is housing demand moving?
What businesses are coming?
What infrastructure is being built?
What is the community talking about today that may matter five or ten years from now?
That is where local knowledge matters.
Maybe you're thinking about selling a home your family has owned for decades.
Maybe you're looking at land.
Maybe you're moving to Taylor because of a new job.
Maybe you're considering an investment.
Or maybe you're simply trying to understand what all this growth means for a property you already own.
You don't need to be ready to buy or sell to call me.
Sometimes the most useful real estate conversation begins with one very simple question:
“Christi, what are you seeing?”
I'm always happy to talk Taylor.
